IDOL CHEESEDOG TEAMS UP WITH VALENZUELA’S HARDCOURT IDOLS

Amphitheater, once known for gladiator combats, turned into a venue for collaboration between Valenzuela Classic Basketball Team and CDO Idol Cheesedog as a participant of Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

In a ceremony held at the Valenzuela City People’s Park Amphitheater on June 29, CDO Foodsphere Inc. and the Valenzuela Classic basketball team inked a major sponsorship deal that would officially rename the latter, “Valenzuela Idol Cheesedogs.” Present in the historic signing were Congressman Eric Martinez, Team Owner Erwin Buenaventura, and Ms. Pilar Rosa De Guzman, as representative of Mr. Jerome D. Ong, President and CEO of CDO Foodsphere Inc.

CDO Foodsphere, Inc. is known to have been one of the prime movers of the city’s thriving economy, and having it as the team’s main sponsor requires very little thought. “Actually from day 1, we thought of no other company to partner with but CDO Foodsphere, Inc., knowing that it started and flourished right here in the city of Valenzuela,” Buenaventura explained.

“We see it as a way to not only promote the city and the value of physical fitness but also to steer Valenzuelanos away from vices like alcoholism,” responded the team owner when asked of the value of giving the city its own basketball team.

“CDO Idol Cheesedog is a brand that puts a premium on the value of achievement and winning,” said Ms. De Guzman, CDO Category Brand Manager. “And being associated with, let alone supporting a basketball team that’s committed to winning on and off the basketball court is a huge achievement in itself,” she added.

Samples of the country’s Number 1 Cheesedog were given away, as a host of fans and supporters awaited the chance to meet and greet their newest idols on the hardcourt. Led by Mr. Paolo Hubalde, a former PBA standout and now team captain, the 20 players capped off the historic event by distributing game tickets to every lucky fan in the venue.

The Valenzuela Idol Cheesedogs faces the Basilan Steel, tonight 8:00pm at the Valenzuela Astrodome. Fans are encouraged to wear red!
