3 awesome recipes that proves Lumpiang Shanghai is worth the hype!
Who doesn’t love lumpiang shanghai?
A rising star has taken over the culinary spotlight- the humble lumpiang shanghai. When talking about the best Filipino food, you’ll hear adobo, sinigang, and caldereta, among others. It’s been that way for years. But now, there’s a new fave in town.
Recently hailed as the second best street food in the world by Taste Atlas last September 2022, the lumpiang shanghai is a staple in many Filipino celebrations or even during regular meal times at home. This deep-fried, finger-food delicacy is simply too tasty to miss out on, especially on happy days.
Though traditionally made with ground beef, did you know that lumpiang shanghai actually has tons of variations? In this article, you’ll learn about three- all made with CDO Food Products, which are both affordable, easy to make, and still capturing the taste that Filipinos look for.
1. CDO Karne Norte Lumpiang Shanghai
This recipe is an awesome collaboration between two Filipino faves- lumpiang shanghai and CDO Karne Norte. Quick and easy to make, this dish is perfect as a quick energizing snack in between meals for both parents and kiddos.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 can CDO Karne Norte 150g
- 1 pc small carrot, minced
- 12 pcs lumpia wrapper
- 1/2 cup oil, for frying
Procedure:
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, thoroughly combine your CDO Karne Norte with the minced carrots.
To assemble your spring rolls, place 1 ½ teaspoon of the previous mixture on one end of your lumpia wrapper. Fold both sides of the wrapper and fold the bottom to secure the filling. Roll it up and brush the edges with water to seal the lumpia closed. Do this step until you’ve exhausted all your ingredients.
In a deep pan, heat your ½ cup oil. Once done, fry your spring rolls until crispy and golden brown.
Serve with preferred dipping sauce.
