For this recipe, you’re trying two Filipino faves in one recipe- cheesedog and empanada. Usually served as a closed pastry with meat inside, empanada is dainty delicacy enjoyed by millions of Filipinos.
For this recipe, you’ll be mixing things up a bit in terms of presentation but the dish will still taste amazing!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 3 pcs CDO Regular Idol Cheesedog, sliced
- Vegetable Oil
- 10 pcs Wonton Wrapper
- 2 Tbsps Unsalted Butter
- 2 Tbsps All Purpose Flour
- 2 cups Fresh Milk
- ¼ cup Cheese, grated
- ½ cup Carrots, julienned
- ½ cup Papaya, julienned
- 1/3 cup Red Onion, julienned
- Parsley, chopped
Procedure:
- In a pan over medium heat, fry your CDO Idol Cheesedog slices. Once done, place on a plate covered with paper towels. Set aside for later.
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil- just enough so you can deep fry your wonton wrappers. When the wrappers float, press down in the middle of each piece to form a small cup. Let them cook until they turn golden brown. Once done, set aside on a wire rack.
- In a saucepan, mix together melted butter and flour for 2 minutes. Once it forms into a paste, add fresh milk gradually- still stirring.
- Next, add your grated cheese and stir until it completely melts and combines with the butter-milk mixture.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients: cooked CDO Idol Cheesedog slices, red onions, papaya, and carrots. Once the ingredients are evenly dispersed, pour in about 3-5 tablespoons of the sauce until the mixture is coated.
- To assemble your empanadas, stuff each wonton cup with the veggie-cheesedog mixture. Top with chopped parsley as garnish.

Here’s what you’ll need:

- 3 Tbsps Oil
- 1 pc Onion, diced
- 1 pc Medium-Sized Carrot, diced
- 1 pc Celery Stalk, diced
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 100g Ramen Noodles or Egg Noodles, cooked according to package instructions
- 1 pc Egg, soft boiled
- ¼ cup Green Onions, Chopped
- 2 Tbsps Parsley, chopped
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Ground Black Pepper
Procedure:
- In a pan over medium heat, fry your CDO Jumbo Idol Cheesedog slices. Once done, set them aside on a plate covered with paper towels.
- In the same pan, saute your garlic, onion, celery and carrots until the mixture turns fragrant.
- Next, stir in your cooked noodles, soy sauce, and cheesedog slices. Make sure to combine the ingredients well so they are dispersed evenly.
- Once done, transfer your stir-fry noodles into a serving plate. Top with parsley, green onions, and sliced boiled eggs as garnish.
Creamy Mushroom Rice Balls
It’s true- CDO Idol Cheesedog is perfect with anything! Yep- that includes mushrooms.
For this heavenly recipe, you’re combining the savory flavor of Idol Cheesedog with shitake mushroom’s earthy taste. Not only are these treats effortless to cook, they’re also easy to consume. One bite will never be enough so be sure to make lots!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- CDO Idol Cheesedog Go Balls
- 3 pcs Large Eggs
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 cups Bread Crumbs
- Vegetable Oil for Frying
For the Creamy Mushroom Rice
- 2 cups Chicken Stock
- 1 Tbps Olive Oil
- 1 Tbps Butter
- ¼ cup Onions, Chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 3 pcs Shiitake Mushrooms, Minced
- 1 cup Rice, uncooked
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
Procedure:
- In a medium-sized pot, boil your chicken stock.
- In a pan over low to medium heat, warm butter and oil. Saute the garlic and onions.
- Next, add the rice and shitake mushrooms.
- Slowly add the boiling chicken stock, stirring constantly.
- After that, add your parmesan cheese and season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- Stir your mixture until the rice is cooked. Set this aside and let it cool.
- In a pan over medium to high heat, fry your CDO Idol Cheesedog Go Balls until cooked. Let it cool for a few moments.
- (Wear gloves for this one!) Grab half a handful of your cooled rice and flatten it on top of your hand.
- Place one cooled Go Ball in the middle of your flattened rice. Shape the rice to cover your Cheesedog Go Ball. Do this for all the Go Balls.
- Once done, set up your breading station. Place three bowls in a line, the first one containing flour, the second one containing beaten egg, and the last one containing breadcrumbs.
- Dip the rice balls first into the flour, and then the beaten egg. Lastly, cover it with breadcrumbs.
- Once you’ve done this for all your rice balls, fry them until they turn golden brown. When it’s time to remove them from the pan, place them on a wire rack to cool.
- Serve warm.
