Spanish-Style Misua

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsps cooking oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can San Marino Spanish Style Tuna Fillet
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tbsps fish sauce (patis)
  • 1 medium patola (Chinese okra), sliced
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 kilo misua (fine rice noodles)

How to make Misua with Sardines:

  1. Heat oil in a medium pot, then saute garlic and onions.
  2. Add the sardines including the oil and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add water and patola let it boil for about 5 minutes. Adjust taste by adding fish sauce and ground black pepper.
  4. Add in the misua and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Serve warm

Ingredients:

  • 340.2 grams chicken breast, flaked
  • ½ pc cabbage, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 pc onion, diced
  • 3 pcs CDO Bigtime Negosyo Super King Size hotdogs, sliced
  • ¾ cups carrots, diced
  • 340 grams evaporated milk
  • 1 ½ cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tsps minced garlic
  • 1 pc chicken bouillon cube
  • 6 to 8 cups of water
  • 3 tbsps cooking oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

How to make Pinoy Sopas:

  1. Start by preparing the chicken. Boil for around 18 minutes or until fully cooked. You will need to shred the chicken meat afterwards. Make sure that the chicken cools down before shredding.
  2. There sauteeing involved in the process. Heat oil and start to saute the garlic, onion, celery, and carrot. These ingredients brings-in flavor to your chicken soup. Add the shedded chicken and hotdog slices. Note that the use of hotdog is optional.
  3. Pour the water used in boiling the chicken earlier. You will have the leverage when using this because it is already infused with chicken flavor. Add the chicken cube for a more solid chicken taste. This makes a difference.
  4. The macaroni cooks next. Make sure to add more water if needed. Sometimes the pasta absorbs more liquid than expected. Add cabbage and milk. Season with salt and pepper.

Inspired by the American chicken noodle soup, the Pinoy sopas uses evaporated milk to make a richer broth while using fridge staples such as sliced CDO Bigtime Negosyo Super King Size hotdogs and flaked chicken breast. Colorful veggies like carrots, cabbage, and celery are also added into the mix to make the soup more nutritious.

Pork Siomai & Nido Oriental Soup

Ingredients:

  • 5 pcs Holiday Pork Siomai
  • 1 40g pack Nido Oriental soup
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 egg

How to make Pork Siomai and Nido Oriental Soup:

  1. Prepare the siomai by combining ground pork, onion, carrot, scallion, egg, Sesame oil, and ground black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. Crush the pork cube using your fingers and then add to the pork mixture. Continue to blend the ingredients using a spatula or spoon.
  3. Scoop around 2 tablespoons of pork mixture. Place it in a middle of a potsticker wrapper (also known as siomai wrapper), and then secure by folding the sides. Compress the pork mixture by pressing the top part using your thumb. Arrange each piece of pork siomai in a steamer. Perform this step until you reach the count of pork siomai that you intend to make. Note: you can keep a portion of the pork mixture in the freezer for later use.
  4. Boil 6 cups water in a steaming pot or cooking pot. Steam the siomai for 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. Prepare the Nido Oriental Style Soup by combining the soup mixture with 3 cups water. Stir.
  6. Pour into a soup pot. Stir constantly every minute.
  7. Once the liquid thickens and starts to boil, add egg. Stir and make sure that the egg is distributed well into the soup. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  8. Transfer the soup in a bowl and the siomai on a serving plate. Serve with chili garlic sauce.
